  • Website Administrators are responsible for managing and maintaining the technical infrastructure of a website, including both Windows and Linux systems. They ensure that the website is up and running smoothly, perform regular system maintenance, and troubleshoot any technical issues that may arise.
     
    Key responsibilities:
    1. Installation, configuration, and administration of Windows and Linux servers, including web servers, application servers, and database servers.
    2. Manage and monitor website infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and optimal performance.
    3. Perform system backups, recovery procedures, and disaster recovery planning to ensure data integrity and minimal downtime.
    4. Collaborate with development teams to deploy new applications, modules, or updates to the website, ensuring compatibility and stability.
    5. Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement performance optimization techniques.
    6. Troubleshoot and resolve system-related issues, both independently and in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
    7. Stay up-to-date with the latest web technologies, best practices, and security standards, and apply them to website infrastructure.
    8. Maintain system and process documentation, including infrastructure diagrams, standard operating procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
    9. Collaborate with other IT teams or external vendors to implement and manage third-party tools or services required for website infrastructure.
    10. Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements related to website infrastructure and data security.
    11. Participate in on-call rotations to provide support during off-hours and handle any critical incidents.
    12. Continuously evaluate and recommend improvements to website infrastructure, including hardware, software, and security measures.
    13. Train and mentor junior team members, sharing knowledge and best practices related to website infrastructure administration.
    14. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as developers, network administrators, and security teams, to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of the overall website.
    15. Maintain effective communication with stakeholders, providing regular updates, reports, and recommendations related to website infrastructure.
    16. Experience in virtualization technologies (e.g., Hyper-V, VMware).
    17. Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to internal users as needed.
     
    Required qualifications and skills:
    - Strong experience in administering Windows and Linux server environments.
    - Proficiency in web server technologies such as Apache, NGINX, IIS, etc.
    - Familiarity with database management systems like MS-SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.
    - Solid understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
    - Understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and network security concepts.
    - Experience in implementing and managing website security measures, such as SSL certificates, firewalls, and penetration testing.
    - Knowledge of virtualization and containerization technologies such as VMware, Docker, Kubernetes, etc.
    - Experience in scripting and automation using PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
    - Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze and resolve complex technical issues.
    - Knowledge of web application security best practices.
    - Familiarity with monitoring and performance analysis tools.
    - Ability to perform server performance analysis, capacity planning, and optimization.
    - Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure to resolve issues efficiently.
    - Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, along with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
    - Proactive in staying up to date with emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in website infrastructure management.
    - Excellent documentation and communication skills.
    - Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
    - Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
