  Position Overview

   

  Cogniter Technologies is looking for a skilled and proactive Senior System Administrator to join our IT Infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, securing, and optimizing the company’s servers, systems, and network infrastructure. This role requires a professional who can ensure system stability, maintain data security, and support smooth operations across mission-critical systems in a fast-paced environment.

  Key Responsibilities

   

  • Configure, maintain, and optimize servers, systems, and IT hardware infrastructure.

  • Manage LAN, WAN, VPN, and other essential network components.

  • Provide technical support for hardware, software, and networking-related issues.

  • Monitor system performance and network activity using diagnostic and monitoring tools.

  • Implement and maintain IT security policies, including firewalls, access controls, and patch management.

  • Ensure data protection and integrity through regular backups and disaster recovery strategies.

  • Install, configure, and maintain system software, applications, and security updates.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly to minimize system downtime.

  • Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, infrastructure, and standard operating procedures.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for system upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure improvements.

  Qualifications

   

  • 3–6 years of experience in system administration or IT infrastructure management.

  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server and/or Linux environments.

  • Solid understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs).

  • Hands-on experience with Active Directory, Group Policies, and user account management.

  • Ability to diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network-related issues efficiently.

  • Knowledge of backup strategies and disaster recovery planning.

  • Familiarity with IT security practices, firewalls, and network protection standards.

  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

  Preferred Certifications

   

  • Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA)

  • CompTIA Network+ or Security+

  • Linux Certification (RHCSA or equivalent)
