Position Overview
Cogniter Technologies is seeking an experienced Sr. System Administrator to join our IT team. You will be responsible for managing and maintaining IT infrastructure to ensure high availability, security, and optimal performance of servers, systems, and networks. Key Responsibilities

Configure, maintain, and optimize servers, systems, and hardware.

Manage LAN, WAN, VPNs, and other network components.

Provide technical support for hardware, software, and networking issues.

Monitor system performance and network activity using monitoring tools.

Implement and maintain IT security policies, firewalls, and access controls.

Ensure data protection with regular backups and disaster recovery processes.

Install, configure, and update applications and system software.

Troubleshoot and resolve IT issues to minimize downtime.

Document infrastructure, system configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.

Collaborate with IT team members on upgrades and infrastructure projects.
Qualifications
-
Experience: 3–6 years in system administration or IT support.

Technical Skills:
-
Strong knowledge of Windows Server and/or Linux systems.
-
Expertise in networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs).

Hands-on experience with Active Directory and user account management.
-
Proficiency in troubleshooting complex IT issues.

Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery tools.

Familiarity with IT security best practices.

Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation abilities.
Preferred Certifications

Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA)

CompTIA Network+ or Security+

Linux certifications (RHCSA or equivalent)
