  About the Role

   

  We are looking for a skilled and proactive Network & Systems Administrator to join our IT team in Chandigarh.

  The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in network administration, Windows systems, server management, network security, troubleshooting, and infrastructure support. The role involves maintaining network and system infrastructure, ensuring service availability, resolving technical issues, and supporting a secure and reliable IT environment.

  The position may require 24/7 support and on-call availability for critical network and system-related issues.

  Key Responsibilities

  Network & Systems Administration

   

  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot hardware, software, servers, and network infrastructure.

  • Monitor network and system performance and proactively identify and resolve potential issues.

  • Manage and maintain Windows-based operating systems and servers.

  • Troubleshoot operating system, hardware, software, and connectivity issues.

  • Maintain reliable and secure IT infrastructure with minimal service disruption.

  Network Management

   

  • Configure and manage LAN, WAN, VLANs, IP addressing, subnetting, and network protocols.

  • Apply strong knowledge of the OSI model and TCP/IP networking to troubleshoot and resolve network issues.

  • Configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and other network devices.

  • Monitor network performance, availability, and connectivity.

  • Identify opportunities to improve network reliability, performance, and efficiency.

  Network Services & Servers

   

  • Configure and manage DNS and DHCP services.

  • Support and maintain web servers such as Apache and IIS.

  • Support internet and intranet application hosting and ensure service availability.

  • Monitor hosted applications and troubleshoot infrastructure-related issues.

  • Manage and maintain server configurations and system services.

  Security & Connectivity

   

  • Configure and maintain firewalls, VPNs, antivirus, anti-spam solutions, and other security controls.

  • Monitor infrastructure for potential security threats and take appropriate corrective action.

  • Implement security best practices to protect systems, networks, and business data.

  • Manage secure remote access and VPN connectivity.

  Database & Backup Management

   

  • Support the administration and maintenance of MySQL and SQL Server databases.

  • Monitor database availability and assist with performance and connectivity issues.

  • Implement and maintain reliable backup solutions.

  • Develop, maintain, and test backup and disaster recovery procedures.

  • Support business continuity and recovery activities during infrastructure incidents.

  VoIP & Communication Systems

   

  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot VoIP systems and related network infrastructure.

  • Monitor voice communication services and resolve connectivity or performance issues.

  • Coordinate with relevant teams or service providers to resolve VoIP-related problems.

  Technical Support & Documentation

   

  • Provide timely technical support for network, server, hardware, software, and connectivity issues.

  • Provide 24/7/on-call support for critical infrastructure incidents when required.

  • Communicate incident status, technical updates, and planned changes to relevant stakeholders.

  • Maintain accurate network diagrams, configuration records, troubleshooting guides, and technical documentation.

  • Follow established IT processes, security policies, and operational procedures.

  Required Skills & Qualifications

   

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience as a Network Administrator, Systems Administrator, Network & Systems Administrator, or in a similar infrastructure role.

  • Strong experience with Windows operating systems and server administration.

  • Strong understanding of:

    • TCP/IP

    • OSI Model

    • VLANs

    • IP Addressing

    • Subnetting

    • LAN/WAN

    • Network Protocols

  • Hands-on experience with routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.

  • Experience managing DNS, DHCP, VPNs, Apache, and IIS.

  • Knowledge of MySQL and SQL Server administration and support.

  • Experience with firewalls, antivirus, anti-spam systems, and network security practices.

  • Hands-on experience with VoIP systems is preferred.

  • Understanding of backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity practices.

  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Good communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues to both technical and non-technical users.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Willingness to provide on-call or 24/7 support when required.

  Preferred Skills

   

  • CCNA, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, MCSA, or other relevant certifications.

  • Experience with cloud infrastructure and cloud-based hosting.

  • Familiarity with cloud networking and infrastructure configuration.

  • Experience supporting Apache and IIS web hosting environments.

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office for reporting and documentation.

  • Experience with network monitoring and infrastructure management tools.

  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies and server environments.
