Three Strategies to Get Traffic from YouTube

YouTube can be a rich source of traffic. It is among the five most popular websites in world. It can be used to engage with audiences and increase the number of people visiting your website. The key, as always, lies in using the right strategies.

More than 100 hours of video is uploaded onto YouTube every minute. Amid this deluge of content, you need to have a clearly planned and an effective strategy to convince people to watch your video, instead of million others.

This blog is an overview of three strategies that you can use to improve the number of visitors to your website through YouTube.
  •  Focus on text

YouTube is the world’s most popular video sharing website. It is intelligent, but not smart enough to guess what is in your video. It relies on cues from text in video descriptions and titles. If you are targeting a keyword, include it in your title and the video description. It will help your video rank higher.
  •  Emphasize on video tags

Video tags are those keywords for which Google tends to show video results. For instance, when you look for the “the best moments of FIFA 2014” Google tends to show you video results with clips from the World Cup. When you select keywords for you videos, prefer highly relevant tags which go well with your video.
  •  Participate in online communities

Online communities such as Reddit, Quora, and others can provide you many eyeballs if you are careful. Even the community on YouTube is very active. Participate in these communities. Do not dump your video. You will notice surprising results in a short time.

YouTube can be a good source of traffic if you are adopting the right strategies. These strategies are – focus on video descriptions, opt for appropriate video tags, and participate in online communities.
